The Optris Calculator App combines the spot size calculator for IR pyrometers and the optics calculator for Optris IR cameras. It calculates the spot size for each device at any given distance.
For pyrometers, it is crucial for accurate temperature measurement that the spot size is not larger than the object being measured.
For cameras, the measurement field on the object’s surface is precisely determined. Using information about the lens and the distance to the object, measurement field dimensions, pixel size (IFOV), and MFOV (ranging from 2×2 pixels to 4×4 pixels depending on the device type) are accurately calculated. This ensures optimal positioning of the thermal imaging camera and avoids measurement errors.
