FAQs
How do I focus the CTratio?
The CTratio pyrometer is equipped with a vario optics. This enables you to focus the device from a distance of 300 mm (11.81 in) to infinity (CF optics: from 150 mm / 5.91 in to 350 mm / 13.78 in). To focus the sensor, loosen the knurled screw on the head. Now you can focus the device on the passive infrared sensor head. After alignment, tighten the knurled screw. This secures the focus. By turning the rotary button clockwise you will change the focus in direction far. By turning counterclockwise you will change the focus in direction close.
How do I connect or disconnect the fiber optical cable?
When mechanically connecting the fiber to the sensor head and the electronics box, the correct pairing must be ensured. Both connections are labeled with the corresponding side (“Head” and “Box”). To connect the fiber correctly, plug the cable into the device and turn the fiber until it locks into place. Then fix the cable with the knurled screw Never pull on the fiber. This can damage and destroy the fiber. When removing the fiber, the screw connection must be loosened
first.
What is the bending radius on the fiber?
Please make sure that the minimum bending radius of the fiber optics is 29 mm (1.14 in) for 1MH / 1MH1, and 80 mm (3.15 in) for 1ML will be considered during installation.
What do you do if the fiber is broken?
The device must be sent in if the fiber or measuring head is defective. A recalibration is necessary.
How to replace the fiber-optical cable?
For a fast field exchange max. two spare fibers of the same length including optical sensing head can be ordered together with the main CTratio unit. As they will be adjusted together with the CTratio a subsequent order of spare fibers is not possible.
Is the calibration data still valid after changing the fiber optics?
No, the sensor must be recalibrated with the fiber optics and the electronics box.
Scope of Supply
- 1x spare fiber which is calibrated with the electronic box
