Emittance
The terms emittance and emissivity are often used interchangeably. They are unitless and range from 0 to 1, describing the radiation emitted by an object. Emissivity typically refers to smooth surfaces, while emittance is a more general term that applies to surfaces of any shape. Additionally, the term radiant emittance describes the radiated power per unit area,
measured in W/m2.
