Infrared Application Packages

Reliable Solutions for Precise Non-contact Temperature Measurement

Ready-made IR Packages for Your Needs

IR cameras that measure temperature are applied in hundreds of applications but there are several common applications that call for a specific combination of camera and accessories. We have assembled several packages that fully serve the needs of these common applications.

For researchers in the electronics and semiconductor arenas, we have combined our high resolution cameras with powerful microscope optics that optimally focus the detector pixels on targets like semiconductor lead junctions. These packages are often combined with standard optics (for PI Series) when users require both full field of view thermal imaging and microscopic thermal imaging.

For maintenance and safety professionals, we have packages that combine cameras with video cameras, ethernet converters, wall mounts and enclosures that will endure both hot or cold environments and deliver important information on the condition of critical plant assets or potential fire hazards. The ability monitor key plant assets at all times under all load conditions dramatic improvement over information collected occasionally with hand held cameras.

For the glass industry, we have developed the most innovative bottom up glass inspection system that measured “low-e” glass on the bottom of the sheet where high temperature accuracy is assured.

Condition Monitoring Systems

Advancing Maintenance & Safety with IR Condition Monitoring

Maintenance professionals know that certain plant assets will not continue to operate when they reach a certain temperature. Safety engineers know of high risk areas where fire is likely to occur. Optris early fire detection and condition monitoring packages are often set to search a specific area or entire image for temperatures determined to represent a problem and generate and alarm when this condition occurs.

IR Microscopes

Innovations in Infrared Microscopy for Industry and R&D

Many infrared camera systems in use today deliver inaccurate temperature measurements because they are unable to focus 9 or more pixels on the microscopic target to be measured. Optris microscope packages deliver accurate measurements because they combine both the high resolution detector and the calibrated optics that effectively focus and adequate pixel count on the target to be measured.

Glass Inspection Systems

Ready-made Solution for Quality Control in Glass Industry

The Bottom-Up Glass Inspection System from Optris revolutionizes low-emissivity glass production by utilizing dual infrared imagers beneath the tempering line to measure temperatures on the non-coated high-emissivity side. It features a CTlaser 4M pyrometer with protective lens control for safety during glass breakage. Meanwhile, the Top-Down Glass Inspection System enhances quality control in glass hardening, detecting temperature variations, incorporating automatic emissivity adjustments, and ensuring product consistency.

Glass Inspection Systems
Benefits of IR Non-Contact Temperature Measurement for Glass Industry

Our state-of-the-art IR Microscopes, advanced Condition Monitoring systems, and specialized Glass Inspection systems are designed to meet the stringent demands of various modern industries.

Infrared Microscopes: Our IR Microscopes, including the Xi 400 and PI 640i models with MO2X microscope optics, deliver unparalleled detail and accuracy. With up to 2X magnification, these microscopes offer superior resolution and sensitivity, making them ideal for material science, electronics manufacturing and R&D. The enhanced imaging capabilities allow for detailed thermal analysis and diagnostics at microscopic levels (up to 8 µm), providing insights that are invisible to standard optical microscopes.

Condition Monitoring: The Optris Xi 400 CM, PI 450i CM and PI 640i CM systems are at the forefront of condition monitoring technology in outdoor areas such as paper mills, sawmills, biomass power plants, scrap metal and waste recycling plants, and other large facilities. These systems employ high-resolution infrared imaging to continuously monitor the thermal conditions. By detecting hotspots and other thermal anomalies, our systems help to monitor extensive areas and provide early fire warnings, crucial for executing fire emergency action plans.

Glass Inspection Systems: Our innovative Glass Inspection Systems, including both Bottom-Up and Top-Down approaches, are tailored for the glass manufacturing industry. These systems use advanced infrared technology to monitor the tempering and hardening processes, detecting any temperature inconsistencies that may lead to product defects. The Bottom-Up system measured temperature on the non-coated high-emissivity side of the glass, while the Top-Down system provides crucial temperature data during the hardening process. With features like automatic emissivity correction and real-time quality monitoring, our systems ensure that each glass product meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Optris Infrared Application packages are engineered to enhance productivity, ensure safety, and optimize quality across various sectors.
