Product Description
Infrared camera calibration at Optris ensures accuracy by comparing the camera’s readings to known temperature standards. The camera is exposed to calibrated blackbody sources in a controlled environment, with adjustments made for multiple temperature points across the operational range and for each pixel. The process is documented, including environmental conditions, equipment used, and technician credentials, verifying performance against PTB or NIST standards.

FAQs
Do I need to send the imager in for an adjustment?
Yes, it is necessary to send the imager to our service department for the adjustment. The adjustment will be performed on our calibration stations using
radiation sources traceable to PTB transfer standards.
When should I make a readjustment to the infrared camera?
Optris advises that the best practice is to send in the infrared equipment every two years. However, some quality guidelines in demanding manufacturing processes require checking and recalibrating infrared imagers more frequently, up to every year. The frequency of readjustment is determined by customer’s applied quality standards, the required measurement accuracy.
How long will it take to get the imager adjusted?
On average, the usual turnaround time is 2… 3 weeks after arrival.
