Xi and CSVision – Ethernet TCP/IP and Modbus TCP Interface-Kit

.

The Optris Ethernet TCP/IP / Modbus TCP interface is a communication module that integrates Optris autonomous Xi series infrared cameras and CSVision pyrometers into industrial automation systems. This industrial interface allows for data transmission over Ethernet networks using the TCP/IP protocol, enabling remote monitoring and control of infrared temperature measurement sensors. Additionally, it supports the Modbus TCP protocol, which is widely used in industrial environments for communication between various devices such as controllers, and data acquisition systems. The integration of this interface enhances the flexibility and scalability of temperature monitoring solutions, facilitating real-time data acquisition, analysis, and integration with existing control systems, where precise temperature control is critical for maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.

FAQs

Do I need addition cables?

The connection Xi camera to interface box must be done via a I/O/ RS485 cable (ACXIIOCB1). The connection CSvision to interface box must be done via the sensor cable (ACCSVICB3C). Other cable lengths can be ordered separately.

How do I reset the interface?

The interface must be switched off. Press the SW button on the board and switch the box on in the meantime. The LED flashes red. Release the button the fifth time it flashes. The LED flashes green 5 times as confirmation.

What are the default settings?

The following settings are stored as default: IP-Mode: Static, IP address: 192.168.0.1, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, Port Modbus: 502, Port Config data: 55001, Port direct device: 55002.

Can I connect multiple devices to the same network?

Yes, but each of the devices must get an own IP address but they must be in the same subnet.

How do I start to work with the interface?

For the communication, three different examples are supplied: a fully developed C# script with example code as window batch files, an Excel sheet with macros for the TCP/IP communication, and a Modbus communication tool for the Modbus TCP protocol.

Which connector is used?

The industrial interface has a 4-pin, M12, D-coded connector.

Where are the network settings stored?

The network settings are stored on the board, which communicates with the Optris devices via the serial interface. The network settings remain on the board when the Optris devices are exchanged.

How to distinguish between network interfaces?

All Network interfaces for Optris Xi ETH series and CSvision have the same hardware, to distinguish between different industrial interfaces the different times flashing of the I4 LED must be considered after powering the interface.
1 x flashing means Ethernet TCP/IP / Modbus TCP
2 x flashing means EtherNet/IP
3 x flashing means Profinet
