CTex-Kit

.

The CTex Upgrade Kit transforms a standard Optris CT sensor into an explosion-proof version, ensuring safe operation in hazardous environments. This kit includes Zener double barriers, providing essential protection in explosion-prone areas (ATEX compliant). The upgrade maintains the same high-performance characteristics as the CTex LT series. The kit ensures secure and precise remote temperature monitoring with the same reliability as the original CT series. This comprehensive upgrade instills confidence in safety, making it indispensable for critical applications in dangerous settings.
  • Upgrades CT infrared sensor to ex-proof version
  • Energy limitation with appropriate zener barriers
  • Approval for zone 1 (PTB 01 ATEX 2053/ E II (1/2) GD [EEx ia/ib] IIC/IIB)

FAQs

Can I shorten the cable between the sensor head and the electronics box?

It is recommended not to change the sensing cable length, as the cable’s impedance is part of the sensor calibration. However, in all CT LTex models, the sensing head cable can be shortened if absolutely necessary. Shortening the cable will cause an additional measuring error of about 0,1 K/m.

Can I use the CT LTex as 2-wire sensor?

Please do not connect a supply voltage to the analog outputs as this will destroy the output. The CT LTex is not a 2-wire sensor. Please review the CSmicro series as this is a two-wire sensor.

Scope of Supply
  • 1x aluminum housing with mounting appliance for two zener barriers and CT electronics.
  • 2x zener barriers, type 9002/22-032-300-111 (R. STAHL AG)
